新加坡第一份免费华文报《我报》在2006年6月1日创刊。它以简练易懂的文字吸引忙碌的工作人士,自推出以来获得了读者的许多好评。
经过大约一年半的发展后,为了对市场需求作出反应, 革新的全面双语版《我报》在2008年1月8日推出,它采用双封面设计,华英报道各占一半,华英部分发挥各自的语文优势,内容力求做到互补而不重复,从而引领读者进入截然不同的东方与西方视界。
《我报》读者群锁定在20到40岁之间。面向新时代的双语读者,《我报》力求文字简练易懂,华文内容不回避中英互用,以便让双文化读者能轻松、自在、无障碍地通过华文接收国内外信息。
这份报纸的特点是“参与感”,欢迎读者通过各种渠道与新闻工作者交流,并在《我报》上发表自己的看法和主张。此外,读者也能参与新闻制作,受邀与记者一起采访,参与试车、试菜,也欢迎读者提出点子,让读者觉得自己是《我报》的一分子。
《我报》团队也通过网站上的blog(部落格),随时与读者进行交流,让读者了解新闻工作者的想法,也通过电台广播,带读者深入新闻幕后,探讨新闻背后的意义。读者也可在网上阅读《我报》电子报(e-paper)。
革新后的双语《我报》团队由50人组成,华英新闻室的新闻工作者大约各占一半,每天发行量从创刊的12万份,逐步增加到推出双语版时的30万份。《我报》目前每星期一到五出版,除了在地铁站、办公楼派发外,也免费送到一些住宅单位。 |

| About my paper |
my paper, Singapore's first free Chinese newspaper, was launched on June 1, 2006 to overwhelming response. Its sharp, succinct, and easy-to-read style made it popular with its target audience of PMEBs (professionals, managers, executives, and businessmen) between the ages of 20 and 40.
The revamped, truly bilingual my paper made its debut 18 months later on January 8, 2008. The expanded my paper includes a new, separate English section - allowing two editorial teams to exploit the strengths of their respective languages.
One paper, two languages, two covers, different angles, and complementary reports that explore different approaches to the news - the new my paper brings the best of both worlds, the East and the West, to readers.
my paper's target audience remains unchanged. With a large bilingual readership, my paper's Chinese section is not averse to inserting English to make its reports easy-to-read and "barrier-free".
"Interactivity" is a core philosophy of my paper. It gives readers a platform to boldly express their views, and nurtures "citizen reporters" that uncover the news around them. Readers also join our reporters at food and car reviews, and our reporters share their thoughts on blogs and in broadcasts.
my paper's circulation has grown from an initial 120,000 to 300,000. It is published on Mondays to Fridays, and distributed at major MRT stations, selected office buildings, and delivered to selected homes. An electronic version of the paper (e-paper) is available online.
